Thomas David Gorman (March 16, 1919 – August 11, 1986) was an American pitcher and umpire in Major League Baseball who pitched five innings in four games with the New York Giants in 1939, then went on to serve as a National League umpire from 1951 to 1976, and afterward as a league supervisor. His son Brian was a major league umpire from 1991 to 2021 and wore the same uniform number 9 the elder Gorman wore after the National League began adding numbers to umpire uniforms in 1970.
